CleanBot Lab

About and methodology

An independent editorial-style site for careful robot vacuum comparisons.

What we do

CleanBot Lab publishes buying notes and reviews about robot vacuums, navigation, mopping, docks, maintenance, and everyday usability. It is an independent editorial-style website; this page does not claim a particular individual, company registration, office, or testing laboratory.

We distinguish manufacturer and retailer claims from observations made under an independent test protocol. We do not publish a final score for a product that has not been independently tested.

Corrections and scope

For a correction, include the page URL, the statement in question, and a reliable source. Partnership inquiries must not influence editorial judgment. Privacy requests are handled through the Contact page.

Editorial methodology

Scores follow a transparent rubric.

Cleaning 30%; navigation & obstacle handling 20%; mopping 15%; dock/maintenance 15%; app/usability 10%; value 10%. A product must be independently tested before a final score is published.

Test protocol

When testing begins, we use the same floor layouts and repeatable debris, edge, obstacle, and mopping checks. Results are based on the tested sample, not a manufacturer promise.

Sample, conditions and updates

Each published test will state sample size, firmware, room and floor conditions, test dates, and review date. Pages are updated when a material claim, product revision, or availability change is verified.

Claim labels

Manufacturer/retailer claim means sourced from selling or brand material. Independently tested means observed under our stated protocol. Pending verification means we have not confirmed it.

Price and availability rule

Unless timestamped, pricing and stock are shown as “Check latest price.” We update only when verified, display “Last checked” when applicable, remove expired deal language, and note regional variation. We never guarantee price or stock.
